Description
Piscine II is a solid bronze sculpture. The addition of copper oxide, which turns blue when it comes into contact with the burning metal, materialises the water in a sliced pool, in the manner of an architectural bowl. The artist works with bronze in a traditional, artisanal way, giving her objects an extremely sensual dimension. From the alchemy involved in melting the alloy at extreme temperatures to the gradual patina given to the bronze by repeated handling, Fabien Barrero-Carsenat turns his bronzes into living materials.
