Vernon

Vernon is a French artist who began his training under French sculptor Véronique Lacomme, before turning to ceramics and painting.

It is the concept of movement in painting that Vernon seeks to address. Here, he finds the humanity of his characters in the simplest forms through the suggestion of human postures: strength, grace, aggressiveness, melancholy, and even anticipation.

Committed to the preservation of nature and humanity, Vernon also sculpts his own pedestals from materials derived from the earth, each with its own history. He uses soft stones from the 17th century and timber beams from the 18th century as bases for his works, merging transmission and reuse.

The name “Vernon” was chosen by the artist to preserve his identity.

“Anonymity is the only form of contemporary freedom, a protection in a world where people expose themselves beyond what they should endure.”
