Claire Cosnefroy

Claire Cosnefroy was born in the Cotentin, where she developed a deep appreciation for nature, the stark beauty of vast beaches, silence, and rain. She began her artistic journey at Atelier de Sèvres and then at ESAA Duperré in Paris, later navigating between fashion and music. Her path has since been a constant bridge between places, worlds, and lives.

A few years ago, her encounter with clay was a transformative experience, bringing her newfound joy and the possibility of a long-awaited reconciliation. From that moment, she fully committed herself to this path, developing a unique language by shaping sculptural pieces in stoneware and porcelain using pinching and coiling techniques.

Her practice revolves around the pursuit of an instinctive gesture and swift execution to allow her ideas to come alive spontaneously. Far from any pursuit of perfection, she favors simple, raw forms.
