Anne Jacquemin Sablon Gallery is delighted to announce that Marion Mézenge is the winner of the Prix de la Jeune Création Métiers d’Art 2024 awarded by Ateliers d’Art de France. Congratulations Marion!
MARION MEZENGE, METAL TURNER AND LIGHTING DESIGNER
Lulled by the ongoing work in her childhood home, Marion Mezenge developed a keen interest in the manual arts from an early age. A real jack-of-all-trades, she explored materials in her parents’ DIY workshop.
At the age of 15, she trained as an art turner at the Ecole Boulle, graduating in 2013. Her diploma piece, Parenthèse, won the INMA “Coup de Coeur” prize. She honed her skills in Parisian workshops specialising in lighting, before joining a fab-lab. At the same time, she co-founded the Edward Tisson collective multidisciplinary workshop. In 2019, she created her eponymous company, for which she designs and manufactures interior objects in brass.
THE PRIX DE LA JEUNE CRÉATION MÉTIERS D’ART SPOTLIGHTS TOMORROW’S TALENT!
Every year since 1960, the Prix de la Jeune Création Métiers d’Art has been revealing young talent in the art of craftsmanship. Organised by Ateliers d’Art de France, the prize shines the spotlight on a new generation of designers, all chosen by a jury of experts and craft professionals.
Each year, several winners are selected on the basis of their artistic quality and technical mastery of a particular skill, combined with an innovative approach. They receive support, an ambitious publicity campaign and the chance to exhibit at a prestigious show tailored to their chosen market.
