Description
Pétiole Chair
The Pétiole chair, part of the eponymous collection, is inspired by the natural principle of the petiole: the thin stem that connects the leaf to the branch. With this collection, Alexandre Labruyère is developing a series of objects of great finesse and fluidity in oak from Hauts-de-France. This chair, created in 2022, is directly inspired by plants and explores notions of lightness and balance. Particular attention is paid to the base, which is steam-bent to push the wood to the limits of its elasticity.
The Pétiole chair was awarded the FD100 prize by French Design 2024, which each year honours the 100 most innovative designs.
